JOHN DAVIES
Founder, Renegade Training International
Mr. Davies is the founder of Renegade Training
International, which is known for its ground- breaking approach
to human performance and the leading influence in the entire notion
of what has been loosely termed as “functional training.”
Within the broad fitness, health, strength and conditioning industry
there is rarely an area that isn’t based upon the work of
Renegade Training. Whether it is the notion of imperfection training,
variable mediums, non-conforming object lifts, general physical
preparation, sport specificity or postural adherence, Renegade
Training has paved the way for all others to follow.
Throughout his career he has served as a behind-the-scenes
consultant in every level of sport from professional teams, to
over 50 top NCAA institutions and countless hundreds of high school
programs not only across the country but worldwide. A quick review
of professional rosters reveals a stunning common denominator,
whereby athlete after athlete has been schooled within the Renegade
system in some shape or form, this all through the unyielding
dedication to teaching the community the true path to greatness.
Throughout the sporting community, the Renegade system is accepted
as the most influential training methodology in practice and the
body of work is referenced throughout the world in a host of languages.
An author of six highly regarded and controversial books (Renegade
Training for Football, Xtreme Sports Training ~ Renegade Style,
R Factor for Golf, The Mark of R Part II—The Rebirth of
Honor, Diamonds, the Return to Glory” and now The
Beautiful Game), as well as nearly 1,000 articles in a diverse
group of topics that reflect his renaissance unyielding life,
in the fall of 2004 he founded the “Renegade
Certification” program to help educate young professionals
on his approach. While maintaining the highest levels of continuing
education requirements, the program has attracted dedicated professionals,
ready to assail the top of the industry.
Considered as an epiphany to many high-ranking members of the
exercise community, the vanguard work of Mr. Davies not only harkens
back to a period when elevating society was woven into the physical
culture and sporting community but weaves a message of ethics
and standards rarely heard. He is a well-known advocate of ethical
practices in sport and his written work emits his foul contempt
for a society that is riddled with prejudice, hate and lack of
compassion. To some Renegade Training is a source for athletic
superiority and yet to others the real magic is seen as a journey
to learn how to overcome adversity, to make a difference in a
world that no longer understands the frailty of the human experience.
On a personal level, along with his ongoing literary work and
artistic endeavors, he continues with his personal pastimes in
Surfing, Skateboarding and Snowboarding. Readers of his narrative
of his dark noir work are familiar with his age-defying pursuits
in his world travels, finding that one perfect wave or hurtling
down a snowy mountain, ageless and timeless.
